I'm pumped

Ok, I cheated and ran on Friday, but it was a very short, easy run. Since I'd been off most of the week, I decided to test out the knee once more before Saturday. I did fine, got my pace back up a bit, and felt great. It put me in a very good mood today, and I'm just excited to be alive today. My knee is fine (just the occasional twinge of an ache) and I'm back in business. Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

A body at rest . . .

of course it stays at rest. My body has been resting since Sunday, so when it got dragged, kicking and screaming, out to run this morning, it whined loudly. I've been off rehabbing my knee, and it's much better. I did my entire run this morning with very little knee pain (a twinge here and there, but nothing to yelp about). It was the rest of me that whined. I've lost the speed I'd gained over the past few weeks (sorry Cincha), but hopefully I can find it again at some point. At least I'm able to run, that's all I care about at this point. My inability to run/XT this week has really taken a toll on my fitness level. Who'd have thought it would plummet so quickly, but take heed. You can get it back, too. That's what I'm going to do -- get it back. May take another week, but I'll do it. Now the goal is to take care and not hurt my knee again.

Another injury day

I didn't run again today, Tuesday. Hurt my knee again Sunday and am rehabing it. It's much better today, but I ran a tiny bit yesterday afternoon and it started hurting again. I figure it won't kill me to give it one more day of rest, ice and ibu. I'll walk this afternoon with Sandy in preparation for her doggie obedience class (she does so much better when she's a bit tired). Anyway, I'll get my 30 minutes in walking with her, even if I don't run. Then I'll do a mere bike ride tomorrow and hopefully be back on track by then. It's a lovely day outside -- just another day in paradise.

Woohoo!! It worked.

I got in twice in a row to blog, without having to hold my mouth just right, stick out my tongue or stand on my head (it's very fortunate I work from home). If anyone is having trouble getting their login to work (I kept getting a Click Here to Continue message that wouldn't go anywhere), please let me know. I have a beautiful solution that is sure to make your day.

I get very excited when I solve a problem, so this is a big day for me. I've been fretting with this for months now. Now I'll have to find something else to fret about. Dang.

It's about time!!!

I have been trying to blog again since last Sunday, after the mother of all XT. I haven't been able to get in, and didn't know how I got in the last time. It's been hit or miss, but I finally found a help site with a suggestion that worked. This has been so frustrating. Anyway, back to me.

I went kayaking again yesterday, but it was not as long or strenuous. Much fun was had, and a veggie wrap at Keifers followed closely behind.

My run Saturday was long and hard, but I think it was the pace set by my soon-to-be-fired pace-setter, Cincha. She runs faster even than my dog. I'm thinking of tying Cincha's legs together and let her hop the entire 7 miles. Maybe then I could keep up without losing a lung. Anyway, I got it done, and was still able to play during the rest of my Saturday. I tweaked my tender knee while kayaking yesterday, so took Monday off from running. I am going to a softball practice later and will get to run a bit, but hopefully won't reinjure it before I can get it back. I was doing so well until yesterday, it hadn't hurt in several weeks. At least I know I can get it back, and then must figure out a safer way out of the kayak. I'm going to stop this blog, get off the internet, and see if I can get in twice in a row without standing on my head (I have a headache now).
